Today's Open Day at Grapes Hill Community Garden was undoubtedly a success. It was well-attended, a wide variety of groups had stalls and the organisers got the feedback they needed about what local residents want from the garden. It's a great community initiative and I'm really pleased it has engaged so many local residents.
The garden is between Grapes Hill and Valentine Street and is a former council-owned car park. Our councillors for Mancroft ward have been working with the organisers and the City Council to get the project off the ground.
The organisers are now seeking funding to landscape the garden and plant fruit and nut trees. For more information, or to get involved in the group, please contact Fran Ellington on 07729 540482 or fran_ellington@hotmail.com .
