Norwich City Council has agreed a programme for providing recycling bins for Council flats around the city. Residents in large blocks of flats will soon be consulted on where bins should be installed. Following lobbying from Green Councillors, the Council has agreed not to charge leaseholders for the installation of the bins.
Green Councillor Adrian Ramsay, Leader of the Opposition at City Hall, said: “These facilities will make it easier for thousands of people to recycle. I’m disappointed it’s taken so long to get to this stage. I’m pressing the Council to include all Council flats as soon as possible and to provide suitable facilities to private flats that have not yet got them.”
